Job summary

Synchrony is seeking an AVP, Solution Architect to lead solution design across multiple applications, delivering scalable, secure architecture and guiding one to two Agile teams. The role blends technical depth with business acumen, partnering with stakeholders to align architecture with business value.

The candidate will define target frameworks and technology stacks, ensure end-to-end quality, and collaborate with Enterprise Architects to align with enterprise standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years IT experience or HS Diploma/GED with 9+ years of professional development experience.
• 7+ years of full-stack development experience using Java/JEE technologies, APIs, microservices and modern UI frameworks.
• 5+ years in application architecture and design with strong patterns, processes and tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead solution design and architecture for one or more applications or services.
• Own architecture direction and governance across SDLC with hands-on guidance.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to shape product vision and prioritize initiatives.
• Drive scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions and promote Agile practices.
