Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking the Associate Vice President for Quality, Safety and Regulatory (AVP QSR) to lead system-wide quality, safety and regulatory programs in Worcester, MA. Reporting to the Chief Quality Officer, you will shape strategies, oversee accreditation readiness, and drive continuous improvement across UMMMC and UMMMG.

The role requires a Master’s degree and at least seven years in management plus ten years in related fields, with strong regulatory and Lean experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or above in public health, nursing, health care administration, business administration or related areas.
• Seven years related experience in management roles.
• Minimum of 10 years of related professional experience.
• In depth experience with local, state, and federal regulatory environment and requirements, risk management principles, patient safety science, publicly reported quality measures, operations analysis, and quality management improvement methods.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee system readiness for Joint Commission or other accreditation organizations, including tracer rounds and data export.
• Establish Quality and safety goals that meet or exceed national standards.
• Improve standard work processes and communication for quality and safety improvements.
• Create internal and external networks to connect quality, safety, and regulatory functions.
• Standardize automated data use for quality, safety and regulatory reporting and improvement.
• Integrate system processes with Risk Management for Mandatory Reporting and Serious Event Reporting.
• Oversee daily management system for quality and safety problem solving using lean methods.
• Mentor Directors of Quality, Safety and Regulatory to ensure progress toward goals.
