Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a licensed Mechanical Engineer to lead the Tampa healthcare design practice as Vice President. The role focuses on technical leadership and business development to grow our Property and Buildings business in Florida.

The position covers the full project cycle for complex healthcare, life sciences, labs, and industrial facilities, with cross-functional teams and client relationship responsibilities in a national/international project context.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 12+ years of relevant experience.
Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
Extensive knowledge of mechanical design, especially healthcare.
Strong network in local community.
Experience with design-build and construction management.
Knowledge of mechanical construction laws, codes, and compliance.
Ability to coordinate and direct teams and manage safety policies.

Responsibilities

Coordinate, review and approve mechanical design plans, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.
Apply high-level engineering techniques across concept to operation phases.
Plan future-ready techniques and operating strategies for end-users and infrastructure.
Manage design and construction of mechanical systems from inception to close-out.
Oversee cross-functional teams, budgets, hours, expenses, and technical analyses.
Prepare data visualizations and comprehensive technical reports and presentations.
Develop client relationships and support pursuit efforts.
Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Adhere to Code of Conduct and company policies.
