Job summary

Pace University seeks an exceptional philanthropy leader for the Associate Vice President of Development to drive multi-year major gift campaigns and build a strong donor pipeline across Pace schools. The AVP will oversee a 75-100 donor portfolio and personally solicit major gifts of $100,000+ while guiding frontline fundraisers and volunteers.

The role reports to the Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations, manages a 15-person team, and works in a hybrid model with frequent

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree preferred).
  • At least seven years of major gift fundraising experience is required. Ten years preferred.
  • Experience managing a team to achieve fundraising and activity goals.
  • Comprehensive campaign experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated record of successful major gift solicitations including identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally with diverse audiences.
  • Superb organizational skills; experience with events, complex/timely functions and group interactions.
  • Must have ability and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Retain, hire, manage, and mentor a team of major gift officers across school teams.
  • Collaborate with VP to ensure the Pace campaign case resonates with donors.
  • Analyze data to assess performance and trends in philanthropy.
  • Provide guidance to major gift team to grow and mature fundraising practices.
  • Manage a portfolio of donors and prospects capable of giving $100,000+.
  • Work with Pace stakeholders to engage advisory boards and volunteers to boost giving.
  • Serve as Campaign Director and spokesperson alongside VP.
  • Develop donor integration and engagement strategies nationally and internationally.
  • Network with donors and prospects to build relationships and identify leads.
