Job summary

Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota seeks an AVP of Institutional Effectiveness to lead planning, evaluation, and reporting in alignment with the university’s mission.

The role oversees accreditation and compliance, data analytics, institutional research, and assessment of student learning, while serving as the HLC Accreditation Liaison and ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous quality improvement across units.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; doctorate preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of institutional accreditation experience.
• Minimum 7 years of leadership in higher education.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and governance.
• Excellent writing, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of accreditation processes and higher education operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a system of institutional effectiveness planning, evaluation, and reporting to measure progress toward university objectives.
• Manage a data governance program in collaboration with data governance and technology planning committee; chair the data governance council.
• Develop new ways to provide and communicate data to university decision-makers, including dashboards and visualizations.
• Serve as the Accreditation Liaison Officer to the Higher Learning Commission and coordinate reaccreditation processes.
• Serve as the primary contact for academic compliance with state and regional bodies; ensure regulatory requirements and quality expectations.
• Support institutional research and analysis activities, including surveys and data collection with relevant departments and the IRB.
