Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience), with 12+ years of progressive infrastructure experience and at least 5 years in senior engineering, architecture, lead, or technical leadership roles.
• Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional infrastructure initiatives within hybrid enterprise environments, with strong analytical, troubleshooting, project execution, risk management, documentation, prioritization, and continuous improvement capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to effectively present technical concepts, architecture decisions, risk assessments, investment recommendations, and operational impacts to both technical and business audiences.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, lead through ambiguity, and deliver secure, reliable, scalable, and resilient technology solutions; relevant industry certifications and experience within regulated industries are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level technical leadership across the enterprise infrastructure portfolio, including cloud, datacenter, network, server, storage, backup, identity, telephony, collaboration, and workplace technologies. Design, implement, support, troubleshoot, optimize, and modernize infrastructure solutions while serving as the highest-level technical escalation point for complex operational issues.
• Lead infrastructure strategy, architecture, and lifecycle management by translating business objectives and architectural direction into implementation roadmaps, technical standards, operating procedures, support models, capacity plans, resiliency improvements, and measurable operational outcomes.
• Manage and optimize hybrid infrastructure platforms, including Azure cloud services, on-premises infrastructure, connectivity, identity, governance, security, cost management, and integration services. Ensure environments remain secure, resilient, scalable, performant, and aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
• Direct infrastructure projects and operational excellence initiatives from planning through implementation, stabilization, documentation, and operational handoff. Oversee upgrades, migrations, patching, maintenance, monitoring, service transitions, and continuous improvement activities to maintain high service availability and reliability.
• Advance cybersecurity, compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities by implementing secure infrastructure designs, access controls, vulnerability remediation, recovery procedures, incident response support, and resilience testing in partnership with cybersecurity and business stakeholders.
• Drive infrastructure automation, standardization, and operational maturity through scripting, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, version control, monitoring, reporting, technical documentation, runbooks, and repeatable operational processes that improve efficiency, auditability, and service quality.
• Collaborate with business, application, data, service, and technology teams while providing mentorship and technical guidance to infrastructure staff. Evaluate vendors and emerging technologies, support a distributed workforce, strengthen organizational capabilities through coaching and knowledge sharing, and ensure infrastructure readiness for new and existing business solutions.

Job Summary

The AVP, Infrastructure Management, serves as a senior, hands-on technical authority responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving enterprise infrastructure across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. The role provides broad subject matter expertise across infrastructure disciplines and translates strategic objectives into secure, reliable, scalable, and supportable technical outcomes.

This position operates with a high degree of independence, leads complex cross-functional infrastructure initiatives, and serves as a senior escalation resource. Azure expertise is a key requirement, but the role also requires practical depth across networking, systems, identity, virtualization, storage, backup and recovery, collaboration, telephony, automation, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, and infrastructure operations. The AVP also contributes to roadmap planning, budgeting activities, vendor management, service measurement, documentation, mentoring, and operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting hybrid enterprise infrastructure environments, including Microsoft Azure, on-premises datacenter technologies, networking, compute, storage, identity, governance, security, resiliency, and cloud-to-on-premises integration.
• Strong expertise across the Microsoft technology ecosystem, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server infrastructure, endpoint management, collaboration platforms, and enterprise telephony solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise infrastructure platforms and operations, including virtualization, storage, backup and recovery, monitoring, IT service management, capacity planning, performance optimization, high availability, and lifecycle management.
• Deep understanding of enterprise networking, cybersecurity, and compliance practices, including routing and switching, firewalls, wireless, VPN connectivity, network segmentation, Zero Trust architecture, infrastructure hardening, vulnerability management, incident response, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience driving infrastructure automation and operational maturity through scripting, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, CI/CD practices, APIs, DevOps methodologies, and modern infrastructure engineering principles.
• Broad technical knowledge of enterprise architecture and emerging technologies, including systems integration, data architecture, database platforms, communication protocols, open-source technologies, Linux administration, and infrastructure requirements supporting analytics, AI, and other business-critical platforms.

Compensation

Salary for this position ranges from $120,000.00 - $150,000.00. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

Qualifying positions will also be eligible for comprehensive benefits, such as participation in family medical and dental insurance programs, 401K plan, and PTO.
