Job summary

Poppy Bank in Santa Rosa, CA seeks an AVP, Human Resources Officer to partner with senior HR leaders on daily operations and ensure confidentiality while fostering morale.

The role requires independent, office-based work with minimal supervision and focus on compliance with federal/state banking regulations, payroll, leaves, recruitment, onboarding, and HR systems such as Paylocity. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Human Resources role with recruitment, benefits, leaves, payroll, and HR systems.
• HRCI or SHRM certification desired.
• BA degree in human resources, business, psychology or related field.
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all internal and external HR related matters
• Manage the hiring process and job descriptions
• Oversee onboarding including orientations and benefits enrollment
• Administer HR policies and procedures
• Coach and mentor management on employee relations
• Manage leaves of absence including FMLA, CFRA, PDL and ADA
• Assist with HR projects and initiatives
• Support payroll processing and benefits administration
• Maintain accurate employee records and prepare reports
• Ensure compliance with employment laws
