Job summary

Northeastern University seeks an Assistant Vice President – Global Initiatives to lead and advise senior leaders across the Global University System, driving due diligence, integration planning for mergers, affiliations, and strategic partnerships, and ensuring alignment with university priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred.
• 8–10 years of experience, including 5–10 years working with executive-level leaders.
• Higher education experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and project management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Leading projects and multi-disciplinary teams across the unit to address issues and create process improvement.
• Driving rapid, value-added consensus in a complex, high-paced organization, and providing analysis for complex issues with significant business impact.
• Communicating operational risks, opportunities, and recommendations clearly and concisely to the SVP.
• Project Leadership & Orchestration: Developing and maintaining an inventory of critical path projects of interest to the SVP, and aligning senior leadership's actions and communications in support of agreed-upon goals.
• Leading institutional due diligence and integration planning for mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, and strategic partnerships, assessing academic, operational, financial, regulatory, and organizational considerations.
• Coordinating cross-functional teams and external advisors to evaluate expansion opportunities, developing business cases and governance structures, and advancing Northeastern's inorganic growth strategy and Global University System.
