Job summary

LPL Financial seeks an AVP, Edge Security Engineer to join the Network & Security Engineering team. You will architect, build, and support enterprise edge infrastructure and security controls, and develop technical designs, documentation, and architecture artifacts aligned with security standards.

The role requires collaborating across engineering teams and business units to deliver scalable, secure edge solutions, and may involve on‑call rotations to ensure availability and performance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, building, and supporting enterprise edge infrastructure and security controls using CDN platforms (Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai).
• 4+ years with enterprise monitoring platforms (Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, Grafana).
• 3+ years with global load balancing solutions (NS1, Route 53, UltraDNS, Cloudflare Load Balancing).
• 2+ years managing enterprise DNS solutions (Infoblox, BIND).
• 2+ years building infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, Python, Go).
• 4+ years collaborating with development teams to architect and deliver infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and support highly available, secure edge infrastructure.
• Partner with Enterprise and Security Architecture to align with standards.
• Perform continuous edge threat hunting and mitigation.
• Define and implement edge security infrastructure standards for automation and scale.
• Improve availability, security, and observability across edge environments.
• Conduct POCs to evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-driven solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to deliver secure, customer-focused solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotation for availability, security, and performance incidents.
