Job summary

LPL Financial is seeking an AVP, Edge Security Engineer to join the Network & Security Engineering team. The role focuses on architecting, building, and supporting enterprise edge infrastructure and security controls to protect LPL’s edge.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across CDN platforms, monitoring, and DNS, and can drive automation and collaboration with development teams in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• Experience architecting and supporting enterprise edge infra and security controls.
• Hands-on CDN experience with Cloudflare, Fastly, Akamai, etc.
• Monitor platforms like Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, Grafana.
• GLB solutions such as NS1, Route 53, UltraDNS, Cloudflare.
• DNS management with Infoblox or BIND.
• Infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, Python or Go.
• Collaborate with development teams to architect and deliver infra solutions.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and support edge infrastructure and security controls.
• Partner with Enterprise and Security Architecture to align with standards.
• Perform edge threat hunting and mitigation.
• Define edge security standards to drive automation, scale, and consistency.
• Improve availability, security, and observability across edge environments.
• Research and POC emerging technologies, including AI-driven solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to deliver secure solutions.
• Participate in on-call rotation for availability and performance incidents.
