Role Summary/Purpose:

Synchrony is building a world-class Digital Bank with innovative savings products to help consumers prepare for their futures. Our agile teams develop these products through all customer lifecycle stages. The Consumer Bank Digital API Product Owner will lead the API implementation for new features and enhancements, requiring experience with API teams and strong technical skills.

We offer flexibility: remote work or in-office options, with occasional visits to our hubs within a 2-hour drive.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Translate business needs into requirements for API teams (Business Services Layer).
2. Provide technical guidance to stakeholders and collaborate with Technical Product Owners.
3. Ensure technical implementation aligns with business rules.
4. Deep dive into complex systems.
5. Coordinate with front-end developers and API consumers.
6. Recommend new technologies and features.
7. Oversee the product lifecycle from build to adoption.
8. Support agile processes, backlog grooming, and release planning.
9. Lead user acceptance testing.
10. Work with UX to develop prototypes and gather feedback.
11. Partner with stakeholders to prioritize features and manage the backlog.
12. Manage operational functions like defect triage, education, and inquiries.
13. Monitor usage patterns with analytics tools.
14. Maintain up-to-date documentation.
15. Collaborate with Digital Product Owners for a unified customer experience.
16. Participate in SAFe framework activities.
17. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with 8+ years in product ownership within banking.
2. 4+ years in digital product ownership, API, or services management.
3. Ability to work U.S. east coast hours and commute to hubs.
