Job summary

Vantage Group Holdings Ltd. is seeking an AVP, Data Engineer to ingest and transform replicated source data into consumable data products for the Reporting team and downstream users.

The role emphasizes data modeling and pipeline development within an analytical, column-oriented data warehouse, reporting to the VP, Data Engineering & ETL Lead. Hybrid work arrangement with preferred location in New York or Chicago; base salary expectation ranges from $175,000 to $210,000 plus performance-based

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of ELT development within a Data Warehouse.
• 5+ years working with Dimensional Data Modeling (Kimball, Data Vault, or Medallion Architecture).
• Strong familiarity with dbt and dagster/airflow.
• Strong familiarity with Git and CI best practices.
• Expertise in Python and SQL.
• Expertise in column-oriented SQL modeling.
• Experience in P&C Insurance or Financial Services is a plus.
• Ability to adapt to a rapid growth company environment.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements and data mapping documents into a technical design.
• SQL development using dbt.
• Pipeline development using dagster.
• Identify specific records produced from SQL bugs.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues found during testing or production.
• Communicate project status, issues, and blockers with the team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and addressing opportunities.
