COCC seeks an experienced Assistant Vice President / Assistant Controller to lead the Accounting team, overseeing financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and controls. This on-site Essex, CT role reports to the VP/Controller and drives month-end close, reconciliations, and board reporting.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting and at least five years of progressive accounting experience, with supervisory leadership and familiarity with financial institutions and Call Reports.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Five+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Experience within a financial institution preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Experience with general ledger controls and account reconciliations.
• MBA or CPA designation preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Lead, mentor, and develop members of the Accounting team.
• Assign work, establish priorities, and ensure department coverage.
• Oversee monthly general ledger reconciliation process.
• Review and approve reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Monitor reconciling items and ensure timely resolution.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare and review board and management reports and regulatory filings.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and regulatory examinations.
