LPL Financial invites you to apply for the role of Assistant Vice President, Conference Experiences & Events, leading strategy, planning, production, and execution of in-person, hybrid, and virtual experiences that strengthen client relationships and drive measurable business value.

You’ll manage end-to-end programs, from attendee journey and registration to AV, branding, and post-event follow-up, while balancing premium experiences with financial discipline and leading a team of event planners.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of corporate meeting, conference, or event-planning experience; financial-services experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, marketing, communications, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at multiple levels without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time, based on program needs.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft 365 applications and event-management or collaboration platforms relevant to the work.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end strategy and delivery of assigned conferences and events, translating firm and business objectives into clear experience strategies, project plans, success measures, and execution roadmaps.
  • Lead all strategic, creative, operational, and logistical components of programs, program format, attendee journey, registration, food and beverage, branding and signage, audiovisual, show flow, production, security, and post-event follow-up.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior leaders, business partners, and external vendors; lead cross-functional working sessions that establish objectives, clarify decision rights, surface risks, and maintain alignment through execution.
  • Develop and manage integrated project plans, timelines, budgets, and contingency plans; identify dependencies and risks early, elevate appropriately, and maintain quality under changing conditions.
  • Accurately forecast, manage, and reconcile conference expenses and sponsor revenue while balancing premium experience delivery with financial discipline.
  • Partner with analytics and business stakeholders to define, track, and communicate success measures, including participation, attendee feedback, engagement, content consumption, business outcomes, return on investment, and lessons learned.
  • Use data, feedback, diverse perspectives, industry trends, and sound judgment to identify root causes, improve decisions, and continuously elevate the client and attendee experience.
  • Lead innovation by evaluating new ideas, tools, formats, and partners; take smart, informed risks that challenge the status quo while protecting the firm and the client experience.
  • Lead projects and strategic initiatives beyond assigned conferences when needed, providing subject-matter expertise and support across Conference Experiences & Events.
  • Manage, coach, mentor, and develop direct reports and other planners; delegate with clear expectations and decision rights, reinforce accountability, recognize contributions, and create opportunities for growth.
  • Strategic Thinking: Translate firm vision into clear goals, outcomes, and a shared definition of success, while helping others understand and navigate change.
  • Operational Excellence: Operates with a strong focus on process, quality, risk identification, and practical problem-solving. Analyzes situations carefully, weighs options, creates systematic action plans, and adjusts through effective contingency planning.
