Job summary

Encova Insurance seeks an experienced AVP, Claims Litigation to lead and support strategy across our P&C lines from Columbus, OH or home-based from an eligible payroll state. Reporting to the VP Claims Litigation, the AVP will guide litigation management, cost containment, performance metrics, and collaboration with outside counsel to protect policyholders and reduce loss costs.

Qualifications

• Experience as a practicing attorney and/or P&C or Worker’s Compensation insurance litigation management.
• P&C/Worker's Compensation industry leadership experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of Worker's Compensation, liability, and insurance coverages.
• Strong litigation management skills including mediation, arbitration, and settlements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to persuade and influence.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and technical guidance to the litigation team with a focus on resolution and outcomes.
• Develop and monitor cost containment strategies and assess law firm performance.
• Create and track KPIs to measure claim outcomes and expenses.
• Review and approve settlements and reserving authority as appropriate.
• Build relationships across the enterprise to align litigation objectives with business goals.
• Coach, mentor and develop talent; drive real-time performance management.
