Job summary

Har-co Credit Union in Bel Air, MD seeks an AVP/Branch Manager to drive branch growth, lead staff through coaching, and deliver exceptional member service. The role partners with local networks to exceed sales and service goals while upholding the Member Experience Pledge.

The position entails hands-on leadership, operational oversight, and cross-selling expertise to strengthen member relationships and overall profitability.

Responsibilities

Job description

Driving branch growth and community expansion, the AVP/Branch Manager promotes Har-Co Credit Union across local business networks while upholding the highest standards of member service. This role leads and empowers branch staff through active coaching and supervision to exceed sales and service goals. A hands‑on leader, the Branch Manager directly assists members, resolves complex inquiries, models professional and ethical behavior, and ensures full alignment with the Member Experience Pledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily branch operations, including cash ordering and management, time sheets review and approval, managing personnel, audits and policy compliance.
• Assists in the interviewing, hiring and training of new employees.
• Support career growth by coaching staff on skill development.
• Recognizes employee achievements and encourages excellence in the work environment.
• Build and promote strong, long‑lasting member relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
• Thorough knowledge of credit union products, services, and cross‑selling techniques.
• Implement strategies to achieve or exceed branch targets for loan volume, deposit growth, new memberships, and overall profitability.
• De‑escalate member situations by utilizing active listening, empathy, and advanced problem‑solving techniques to restore trust and retention.
• Ensure that the branch is adequately staffed, maintains monthly schedule and that the day‑to‑day operations are completed.
• Accountable for auditing new and updated members and memberships.
• Adheres to federal regulations, Har‑Co’s policies and procedures and security procedures to protect members and avoid losses to the credit union.
• Completes and administers yearly performance appraisals on time. Exercises authority concerning employment and termination of employees.
• Fraud detection and loss prevention.
• Perform duties of member service representative, teller, or other operational positions on an as needed basis.
• Completes projects and other duties assigned on a timely basis as assigned by management.

• Banking/Credit Union background preferred

Pay and Benefits: This is a full-time in person position with a pay range of $55,000 to $75,000 annually plus possible incentive and bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, voluntary short term disability insurance, 11 paid holidays, paid time off based on years of service, and a 401(k) plan with employer match available.
