Job summary

State Street is seeking multiple Senior Assistant Vice President, Software Engineer roles to design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade software within Wealth Custody & Clearing. You will build scalable backend services, APIs, and cloud-enabled platforms while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, reliable delivery.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of experience in backend engineering, Java/Kotlin/Python, RESTful APIs, and DevOps practices in a regulated financial services

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering, backend engineering, or application development.
• Experience delivering business-critical applications in Agile environments.
• Hands-on programming with Java, Kotlin, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices and distributed systems.
• Cloud-enabled development, CI/CD, DevOps practices, and modern tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise-grade software solutions for the Wealth Custody & Clearing platform.
• Build scalable backend services, APIs, integrations, and platform capabilities.
• Develop cloud-enabled and API-first solutions with secure coding standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Operations, Risk, and Compliance to translate requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering excellence and continuous improvement.
