Job summary

Verizon seeks an Associate Vice President to own the run layer of a national 5G network automation platform. Lead a distributed engineering organization delivering self-healing, energy‑aware, cloud‑native infrastructure and AIML-driven optimization. Drive autonomy from Plan to Run while partnering with TM Forum and O-RAN efforts.

This hybrid role requires deep telecom software engineering leadership and a track record of delivering CNF/VNF at scale.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or 4+ years of equivalent work experience.
10+ years in large-scale network or software engineering with 5+ years in leadership roles.
Proven delivery of CNF/VNF, NFV, or SDN at carrier or hyperscale environments.
Hands-on depth in network automation, orchestration, and closed-loop assurance.
Experience applying AI/ML to infrastructure for optimization and autonomous operations.
Knowledge of 5G Core, virtualization, O-RAN, edge, and multi-cloud or on-prem AI infra.

Responsibilities

Own run layer automation and AI for self-optimizing network operations.
Lead distributed engineering org spanning cloud-native, SRE, and MLOps teams.
Drive Level 4 autonomy with zero-touch success, MTTR reductions, and energy savings.
Represent Verizon with industry bodies and technology partners.
