Wellabe is seeking an AVP Actuary Valuation & Modernization to lead the actuarial function, establish proper reserves, and explain financial results to executives and the board.

The role focuses on modernizing processes, ensuring regulatory and governance adherence, and driving automation across actuarial work products. A high-performing team and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Advanced reserving and experience analysis.
• Data management and reporting expertise.
• Understanding of US GAAP (LDTI) valuation and RBC.
• Ability to communicate complex actuarial concepts to executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead actuarial function for reserves across Wellabe entities.
• Direct monthly/quarterly/annual close for actuarial items and NAIC calculations.
• Support financial reporting and board analyses.
• Drive automation and AI-powered improvements in actuarial processes.
• Build and lead a team of 3–5 actuarial professionals.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Internal Audit, Risk, Modeling, and Data Asset Management.
