Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks an Avionics Technician to support Test Operations at our Flight Operations Facilities in Southern California.

You will work on cutting-edge aircraft and ground control systems, modifying and testing electronics to meet customer test programs, including preflight to postflight data collection. Responsibilities include servicing and troubleshooting avionics, wiring harness fabrication, and supporting flight test activities across locations.

Qualifications

• Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to the completion of a two-year technical degree or trade school equivalency as well as two or more years' experience in aviation or electronics.
• Must be able to perform a variety of routine tasks and demonstrate full knowledge of avionics and electronic procedures and principles.
• Must possess: troubleshoot at the component level; read/interpret schematics and technical orders; use test equipment and wiring practices.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DOD Security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain aircraft and ground support equipment in support of test operations and sustainment activities.
• Modify, install, and test electronics and mechanical equipment as part of customer and company modification and test efforts.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and functional checks on systems and ground support equipment; disassemble and reassemble components.
• Operate test equipment to locate, diagnose, and repair defective parts and document findings.
• Fabricate, upgrade, route, and install wiring harnesses.
• Support flight test activities at various locations and assist with flight engineer duties.
