Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) in Yuma, AZ is seeking an experienced Avionics Technician to support installation, testing, and maintenance of unmanned aerial vehicle electronic systems, including ground control stations and data terminals.

The role requires two years of technical training and at least two years of aviation/electronics experience, with strong troubleshooting, schematics interpretation, and a willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or trade school equivalency; plus two or more years in aviation or electronics.
• Ability to troubleshoot at the component level and analyze data to propose solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics and technical orders.
• Must possess (or be able to obtain) a security clearance.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; willing to travel and extended hours as required.

Responsibilities

• Install, apply and maintain UAV electronic equipment including ground control stations and related ground support equipment.
• Conduct technical analysis to ensure customer specifications are met.
• Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex problems; provide guidance to customers as needed.
• Perform installation, configuration and testing of computer hardware, software and networks.
• Repair or replace components based on test results and technical documentation.
• Maintain records and verify accuracy of technical documents and procedures.
