Job summary

Vast Space Llc. in Long Beach, California, is seeking an Avionics System Test Operations Engineer to support automated testing for Haven Station development.

The role reports to the Senior Manager, Avionics System Test, and requires building and operating HITL/HIL test assets. You will develop system-level test cases, perform troubleshooting, and collaborate with Flight Software, Mission Operations, and hardware teams.

Qualifications

• BS degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or similar hard science.
• 2+ years building or maintaining hardware test systems.
• Experience with Linux systems and command line tools.
• Experience with power supplies, oscilloscopes, and DMMs.
• Strong root-cause analysis and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with Python programming.

Responsibilities

• Capture test design criteria for avionics test systems with engineers and system owners.
• Lead test methodology discussions to develop HITL/HIL test assets and procedures.
• Develop system-level test cases and validate outputs with stakeholders.
• Plan day-to-day system test operations and troubleshoot test assets.
• Perform checkout testing and support sign-off reviews; develop automation tools.
