Job summary

Vast invites applications for an Avionics System Test Engineer to support automated testing systems for satellites and space stations. In Long Beach, this full-time exempt role reports to the Senior Manager of Avionics System Test and focuses on HITL/HIL test assets and system validation.

Responsibilities include designing test cases, procuring equipment, and mentoring the team. Requires 5+ years in hardware test environments and Linux proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or other hard science.
• Experience with hardware test systems and HITL environments.
• Experience operating Linux and using command line tools.
• Familiarity with power supplies, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs.

Responsibilities

• Support design of HITL/HIL test assets for avionics system validation.
• Capture test design criteria with engineers and system owners.
• Develop and validate system test cases and outputs with stakeholders.
• Lead interfaces to co-simulation for HITL applications.
• Procure and integrate test equipment for system validation.
• Troubleshoot and debug avionics test systems; perform reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate project tasks.
