Vast in Long Beach, CA is seeking an Avionics System Test Operations Engineer to support automated testing for Haven-1 avionics and HITL/HIL environments. You will design test criteria, develop system test cases, and validate outputs with key stakeholders.

The role requires a B.S. in electrical or computer engineering and 2+ years building and maintaining hardware test systems, Linux fluency, and Python, Git, and CI/CD familiarity. This is a full-time exempt position in Long Beach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or other hard science
• 2+ years of post bachelor’s experience working with hardware test systems
• 2+ years’ experience building and maintaining hardware test systems
• Experience operating and maintaining Linux systems, including command line tools
• Experience with power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, and digital multimeters
• Familiarity with Python programming

Responsabilités

• Capture test design criteria for avionics test systems
• Lead test methodology discussions with stakeholders to develop test procedures for HITL/HIL assets
• Develop system level test cases and validate outputs with stakeholders
• Plan day-to-day system test operations and perform troubleshooting
• Develop automation tools (e.g. Python) to improve test planning, execution, and data analysis
• Create documentation for test systems and handover to operators
