Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking an Avionics Test Manager to lead design, development, integration, and maintenance of STE and EGSE for avionics programs in Colorado. The role blends hands-on senior test engineering with leadership of a small team, prioritizing test hardware schedules and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate balances detailed technical work with people leadership, ensuring reliable test solutions across programs while coordinating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced defense

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 6 years of experience developing electrical test equipment, instrumentation, or automated hardware test solutions.
• Hands-on expertise in mixed-signal design and test hardware.
• Experience integrating instrumentation into automated test systems.
• Leadership experience (1–3+ years) with project delivery and team development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain ATE, STE, and EGSE for avionics.
• Create schematics, wiring diagrams, fixtures, and harnesses for automated tests.
• Select and configure laboratory instrumentation for automated test solutions.
• Support testing across qualification, environmental, and production stages.
• Lead and mentor a small test engineering team and manage priorities.
• Drive root-cause analysis and improve test standards and processes.
