Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach seeks an Avionics Test Engineer to develop and run tests for flight electrical devices, from circuit boards to entire vehicles. You will build and maintain test systems supporting hardware from development to production and work with avionics, propulsion, GNC, software, and integration teams.

Commensurate leveling with experience. Responsibilities include developing end-to-end test systems, operating test equipment, and providing feedback to improve the avionics

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience testing electrical systems.
• Proficiency with circuit board design using Altium Designer.
• Experience designing and owning test systems from concept to implementation.
• Experience executing tests to support product development and prototyping.
• Ability to work with design engineers to define test requirements for under-defined systems.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to lead meetings and plan projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end test systems validating flight electrical hardware.
• Own setup, operation, and troubleshooting of electrical test equipment and ground support hardware.
• Develop automated tests to collect, analyze, and document data.
• Build and maintain test systems, racks, and setups for component and integrated testbeds.
• Provide design feedback to improve avionics ecosystem.
• Collaborate with avionics, propulsion, GNC, software, and integration engineers for test coverage.
• Support launch site activities by traveling and performing pre-launch tests.
