Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an avionics test engineer for the Starshield program to design and develop test systems for satellite electronics in a high‑reliability environment.

You will write Python automation, collaborate with design and manufacturing teams, and help validate hardware from components to flight units to ensure mission readiness.

This role requires hands-on testing, data-driven decision making, and willingness to work extended hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or an engineering discipline with emphasis in electrical engineering and electronics.
• 1+ years of electronic hardware or software development experience.
• 1+ years of Python, MATLAB, or Embedded C/C++ programming experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom test solutions for flight hardware including in-house electronics, optics, RF, and electro-mechanical systems.
• Select COTS hardware or design PCBAs to measure signals, apply loads, and power test units.
• Write Python automation to interact with test units, equipment, and documentation systems.
• Provide feedback to design and manufacturing engineers to improve reliability and yield.
• Root-cause test anomalies and implement mitigations across testing stages.
