Job summary

The Blackhawk Group is seeking an Avionics Technician III in Glendale, AZ to perform inspections, repairs, and alterations on various aircraft. The role requires strong experience with piston and jet aircraft, including FAA standards, and opportunities to lead major projects and train junior technicians.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of FARs 43, 91, 135, 145; quality system experience preferred.
• Minimum of three years avionics modifications experience or documented equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform avionics installations, troubleshoot and repair avionics and airframe electrical systems.
• Conduct aircraft test flights and in-air troubleshooting of avionics components.
• Inspect wire installations with minimal supervision.
• Lead major avionics projects and manage assigned technicians.
• Provide training to Avionics Technicians I & II.

Introduction

We are looking for an Avionics Technician III to perform routine inspections, repairs and alterations on a variety of aircraft.

We are looking for someone with exceptional character with experience on piston or jet aircraft. Citation and/or King Air experience is extremely helpful with experience in inspections. The Blackhawk Group offers competitive pay and outstanding benefits.

About the Role

• Effectively perform all task outlined under Avionics Technician I & II as well as the following:
• Perform avionics installations to include troubleshooting and repairs of newly installed and existing avionics and airframe electrical systems within assigned goal times.
• Perform aircraft test flights and in-air troubleshooting of avionics components.
• Demonstrates ability to inspect wire installations with no supervision.
• Demonstrates ability to perform aircraft avionics ground checks with no supervision (Pre-install/Post install)
• Provide training to Avionics Technician I & II's
• Effectively lead major avionics projects and assigned techs to an on time and on goal hour completion.
• Provide schedule updates to the Avionics Supervisor and/or General Manager to ensure master schedule is accurate.
• Maintain a supervisor evaluated goal hour productivity rating of 90% or higher .
• Demonstrate Thorough knowledge of FAA AC43.13-1B:
  
  • Chapter 7 Aircraft Hardware, Control Cables, and Turnbuckles
  • Chapter 10 Weight and Balance
• Demonstrate General knowledge of FAA AC43.13-1B:
  
  • Chapter 9 Aircraft Systems and Component

Pay Range

Pay Range: $34-$44/hour, depending on experience
All pay is negotiable, depending on experience
Relocation/ Sign on Bonus opportunities available

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of FARs 43, 91, 135, 145 with Quality system experience preferred
• Minimum of three years avionics modifications experience required and or documented previous work experience fulfilling the primary duties.
