Job description

SUMMARY: The Avionic Technician I must demonstrate high mechanical aptitude and will inspect, service, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul aircraft components while maintaining a safe work environment and following all company and federal rules/regulations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, modify, and service aircraft avionics/accessories/oxygen equipment.
• Perform and document work according to manuals and regulations.
• Maintain shop calibrated tools in operational condition.
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with technical and regulatory data.
• Perform work as assigned by the shop lead.
• Use appropriate inspection techniques and calibrated equipment.
• Follow environmental, health, and safety policies.
• Record information and complete work in compliance with inspection procedures and quality policies.
• Read and interpret schematics and drawings.
• Perform tasks safely and efficiently.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• 3+ years of relevant/technical work experience OR
• Additional 2 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.

Must be able to read electrical engineering drawings and perform teardown, inspection, parts requisition, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of aircraft accessory/avionic/oxygen units to the component level.

Effective communication skills in both written and verbal forms are required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is necessary.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years of specific work experience.
• Strong knowledge of avionic, accessory, and oxygen components.
• FCC General Radio Telephone license preferred.

OTHER:

The selected applicant will undergo a background check and drug testing.
