Job summary

A leading company in Maryland is seeking an Avionics Technician I to perform maintenance and repair on aircraft avionics systems. The role requires a minimum of 2 years' experience and proficiency in OOMA. The technician will work on-site at the Pax River Naval Base in California, MD, and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Avionics Technician I

Location - California, MD (Pax River Naval Base)

Requirements

  • Perform aircraft maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, and modification of aircraft electrical/avionics systems
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications, and special tools and test equipment.
  • Must be familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of electrical/avionics systems
  • Perform the troubleshooting and rewiring of complex avionics/electrical systems and subsystems discrepancies and modifications
  • Use blueprints, schematics, technical drawings and manufacturers' drawings and sketches in the performance of assigned duties
  • May be required to perform Maintenance Operational Checks (MOCs)
  • Complete maintenance documentation accurately using OOMA, and required forms, as required by job assignment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a primary MOS from any of the following OccFlds: 6323 Aircraft Maintenance, equivalent skill designation from other services or possess valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certification
  • Must show proficiency in the use of OOMA within 90 days after assignment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and base access.
  • USN/USMC experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass fit for work physical and/or drug test as required.
  • Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, to include working overhead.
  • Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flightline.
  • Must be able to man and perform Flightline Extinguisher duties.
  • If required must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate Powered Industrial Trucks.
  • If required must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 - 4 hours.
  • If required must be able to perform confined space activities.
  • Travel may be required.
