Textron Aviation is seeking a Mobile Service Avionics Technician to support the MST team and keep Citation aircraft mission-ready at remote locations. You will install, test, troubleshoot, and repair avionics systems, review scopes with the MST A&P, and contribute to a seamless, satisfaction-driven service experience.

Responsibilities include wiring build-ups, following schematics and service bulletins, verifying regulatory compliance, and collaborating with mechanics.

Qualifications

• Education & training equivalent to a high school diploma plus 2 years of college/tech school.
• 3+ years of experience in aircraft avionics systems, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Airframe and Powerplant certification preferred; 1–2 years on Cessna, Hawker, or Beechcraft.
• Broad electronics knowledge and ability to use related test equipment; familiarity with FAA/ FCC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, test, and repair avionics systems; perform final functional testing per FAA procedures.
• Install avionics upgrades and modifications per Textron Aviation schematics and bulletins.
• Ensure compliance with FCC/ FAA repair station licenses and document discrepancies.
• Assist pilots during flights to observe system performance and verify repairs.
• Order parts, manage core returns, and maintain clean, safe work areas.

What you will be doing as a Mobile Service Avionics Technician:

In this role, you can expect to support our Mobile Service Technician (MST) team as you keep Citation aircraft mission‑ready through expert avionics installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair at remote locations. You’ll partner closely with the MST A&P to review customer work scopes, add squawks, and ensure every interaction reflects exceptional service. You’ll also help maintain the mobile service vehicle and respond to customer inquiries to deliver a seamless, satisfaction‑focused experience.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

• Avionics Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose, test, and repair avionics systems using in‑flight analysis, customer feedback, and system evaluations. Troubleshoot wiring issues, replace defective units, and complete final functional testing in compliance with FAA procedures.
• System Installation & Modifications: Install avionics upgrades and modifications, including wiring build‑ups, equipment replacements, and aircraft integrations. Follow Textron Aviation schematics, blueprints, and service bulletins to ensure precise installations.
• Regulatory Compliance & Documentation: Verify all transmitting and receiving equipment meets FCC regulations and maintain documentation required for FCC and FAA repair station licenses. Complete and sign off customer discrepancy sheets with accuracy.
• Flight Support & System Verification: Accompany pilots during flights as needed to observe system performance, diagnose issues, and validate repairs or system alignments.
• Parts, Tools & Safety Support: Order required parts, manage core returns, and maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas. Promote safety expectations, correct unsafe acts, and ensure compliance with shop standards.
• Team Collaboration & Continuous Learning: Partner with Mechanics and Avionics Technicians to meet customer expectations and support a collaborative team environment. Maintain up to date knowledge of avionics systems and hold the required Textron issued and state driver licenses for operating company vehicles.

Requirements/Qualifications

What you need to be successful:

• Education & Training: Equivalent to a high school diploma plus training comparable to 2 years of college or technical school.
• Avionics Experience: Over 3 years of experience in aircraft avionics systems, troubleshooting, and repair is required.
• Certifications (Preferred): Airframe and Powerplant Certification, and 1–2 years of experience on Cessna, Hawker, or Beechcraft aircraft.
• Technical Expertise: Broad knowledge of electronics and the ability to use all related test equipment, with strong understanding of communication, navigation, auto‑pilot, flight director, and pulse‑based systems including DME, transponders, and weather radar is needed.
• Safety & Compliance: Ability to obtain an Airport Security Badge through the local airport authority (if applicable), with readiness to work in generally good conditions and occasional exposure to weather is required.
