Textron Aviation is seeking a Mobile Service Technician to service and repair avionics on Citation aircraft at customer locations. The role includes testing, troubleshooting, and coordinating with customers and the Service Center team to ensure satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in avionics, FAA/FCC compliance knowledge, and preference for A&P certification and experience with Cessna, Hawker, or Beechcraft aircraft. Travel and a Textron-issued driver's license are required.

Formación

  • 3+ years of avionics experience in troubleshooting and repair.
  • Airframe and Power Plant certification preferred.
  • Experience on Cessna, Hawker or Beechcraft aircraft preferred.

Responsabilidades

  • Perform functional testing to isolate customer avionics issues and repair per FAA procedures.
  • Diagnose problems from in-flight data or customer information and take corrective action.
  • Troubleshoot defective units or wiring discrepancies and repair/modify as needed.
  • Install modifications and perform wiring build-up and aircraft installations.
  • Sign off on final testing and ensure compliance with FCC/FAA requirements.
  • Obtain and manage parts for repairs and ensure cores are returned per procedure.
  • Coordinate with customers to review scope and ensure satisfaction.

Job Summary

To work as part of the Mobile Service Technician team (MST), focused on the maintenance activities and work scope of the Customers Citation aircraft. Responsibilities include:

  • Install, adjust, functional test, troubleshoot and repair avionics systems on board the aircraft at remote locations.
  • Assist the MST A&P with reviewing the work scope with Customers and adding squawks as required.
  • Respond to Customer inquiries and ensure customer satisfaction by coordinating with the Service Center Team.
  • Assist the MST A&P with overseeing the maintenance of the mobile service vehicle, ensuring it is properly serviced and roadworthy at all times.
Job Responsibilities
  • Perform the functional testing required to isolate a customer complaint in a particular avionics system and repair that aircraft system in accordance with FAA procedures.
  • Diagnose problems based on in-flight analysis and/or evaluation of information received from the customer and take corrective action.
  • Troubleshoot problems on defective units or wiring discrepancies.
  • Replace defective units, repair wiring, and modify. Work from appropriate Textron Aviation schematics, blueprints, and service bulletins.
  • Responsible for final testing of avionics equipment and signing off customer discrepancy sheets.
  • Ensure all transmitting and receiving equipment complies with all applicable FCC rules and regulations.
  • Install modifications on the aircraft, including wiring build-up and aircraft installations.
  • As required, accompany pilot in flight for diagnosis and observation, or to functional test repaired systems and/or align systems.
  • Order and obtain parts necessary to effect aircraft repairs and assure that cores are returned in accordance with established procedure.
  • Communicate safety expectations of the Service Center.
  • Monitor the work environment to assure it is maintained in a safe and orderly condition.
  • Identify and correct unsafe acts.
  • Update knowledge and stay current on latest avionics developments and equipment to maintain status of all FCC and FAA repair station licenses.
  • Work as a member of a team focused on meeting customer expectations requiring Mechanics and Avionic Technicians to assist each other as required.
  • Must obtain a Textron-issued driver license and possess a valid state-issued driver license to operate Company-owned vehicles or vehicles under Textron control.
  • Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education
  • Equivalent to 4 years high school plus a level of training equal to 2 years college or technical school.
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in aircraft avionics systems, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Airframe and Power Plant Certification preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years on Cessna, Hawker, or Beechcraft aircraft preferred.
Working Conditions

Generally good working conditions. Occasional exposure to disagreeable weather conditions.

Additional Qualifications
  • Duties require a broad knowledge of electronics and ability to use all test equipment connected with this field.
  • Must have knowledge of the operation of avionics systems including communication, navigation, auto-pilot, flight detector, pulse equipment including DME, transponder, and weather radar.
  • Must be able to obtain an Airport Security Badge through the local airport authority (if applicable).
