Job summary

Innova Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer in Yorba Linda, CA to develop and certify airborne software per DO-178C across the SDLC in a 12-month contract-to-hire role. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system-software-hardware alignment, perform verification, and support certification activities.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of DO-178C experience, real-time embedded OS experience, and proficiency with tools like DOORS, VectorCAST, LDRA, and Jira.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, CS or EE; 9+ years in RT embedded software.
• Master’s degree preferred; or 13+ years related experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years DO-178C certification deliverables experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded avionics software per DO-178C objectives and project plans.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including software planning requirements development and analysis.
• Software design and implementation; integration; verification and validation; problem reporting and resolution.
• Configuration management and release; lifecycle data and compliance evidence development.
• Perform software verification activities including reviews, unit/test/requirements-based testing.
• Support structural coverage analysis and coverage-gap resolution; assist certification efforts and SOI audits.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, test, quality, and certification stakeholders.
