Job summary

RTX (Raytheon) in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking energetic engineering interns/co-ops to design, develop, and test avionics sensor simulations. You will support debugging, coordinate with leads, and help manage budgets and schedules for assigned programs.

Candidates must be enrolled in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, have at least 60 credit hours, and be proficient in C/C++ and Python. Onsite role with strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
• Experience with C/C++
• Experience with Python scripting

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test applications to simulate the behavior of avionics sensors to support the development and testing of Collins Avionics products.
• Aid the development team in debugging laboratory issues to determine root cause and propose potential solutions.
• Interact with teammates, management, and customers.
• Support the Program Lead with budget and schedule data for our work on a given program.
• Work with a team of engineers to shape the avionics simulation platform.
