Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Avionics Technician at Goleta, CA, for Level 2 or Level 3, focusing on RF test environments and practical application of RF theory. The role requires comfort working independently or in teams and a proactive mindset for continuous improvement, with travel limited to 10%.

The candidate will perform RF circuit testing, tuning, and assembly, use measurement tools, and read engineering drawings as part of a manufacturing team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and avionics experience in an aerospace environment.
• US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Able to read, write and work to instructions written in English.
• Ability to read and follow directions on engineering drawings.
• Able to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds and stand for long hours.
• Flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts based on manufacturing schedules.

Responsibilities

• Performs manufacturing operations associated with RF circuit testing, tuning, and assembly.
• Utilizes common hand tools and soldering to assemble hardware.
• Reads measurements with calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators during fabrication.
• Conducts transmission and reflection arch measurements using a VNA.
• Supports in-process measurements for low-rate manufacturing.
• Conducts antenna pattern and gain measurements in an anechoic chamber.
• Records data and interfaces with team members and departments.
• Interprets manufacturing drawings/schematics and shop planning.
• Maintains shop appearance and cleanliness.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
