Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking an Avionics Mechanical Engineer for Terran R. You will own the design, analysis, development, and delivery of electro mechanical systems, including enclosures, interfaces, and thermal management, ensuring flight readiness for harsh launch environments.

The role emphasizes hands-on hardware, cross-functional collaboration, and iterating from first principles in a fast-paced aerospace setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 3+ years in mechanical design, packaging and thermal management for aerospace or ruggedized electronics.
• Proven delivery from concept to flight.
• Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks, NX) and structural/thermal analysis.
• Hands-on hardware build, testing and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, analysis, development, and delivery of electro mechanical systems for Terran R avionics.
• Design enclosures, electrical interfaces, thermal accommodations, and interfaces to launch vehicle systems.
• Ensure avionics survive launch and space environments; solve thermal and structural challenges in compact packaging.
• Iterate designs from first principles; perform analysis and testing; drive flight-ready avionics.
• Collaborate across teams to align schedules, requirements, and validation plans.
