Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking a hands-on Lab Engineer to join the Avionics Test Team in Redmond, WA. You will configure lab computing systems, run design verification tests, troubleshoot avionics hardware, and help scale test environments for spaceflight hardware.

Work with cross-functional teams across spacecraft design, test, and operations. The role requires Linux experience, electronics lab exposure, soldering, RF cabling, and a disciplined approach to 5S lab organization. Export controls apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in the Linux environment.
• 2+ years of electronics lab environments experience.
• Experience testing electronics hardware.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain lab computing systems (Windows/Ubuntu).
• Execute design verification and qualification tests, test rack and electrical enclosure design.
• Oversee lab spaces, implement 5S organization principles, order consumables, track assets and inventory, and coordinate logistics with shipping/receiving.
• Troubleshoot and repair avionics circuits.
• Read electrical schematics, interpret mechanical drawings, and install wiring for low voltage electrical and electronic devices.
• Perform soldering and identify/handle RF cables and connectors (e.g., SMA).
• Assemble test racks, cabinets, wire harnesses, and automation equipment.
• Write work instructions, assess and improve processes, and maintain attention to detail during routine operations.
