Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an In-Country F-16 Avionics Intermediate Shop Field Service Engineer (FSE)/CETS in Bahrain. This accompanied assignment provides on-site support, training, and liaison for F-16 avionics installation and maintenance.

The role emphasizes safety, hands-on instruction, and developing local training programs while enabling mission readiness and teamwork with customer personnel.

Qualifications

• Basic qualifications include a bachelor’s degree with 5 years avionics experience or 8 years without a degree.
• Airborne avionics experience must include at least 3 years with F-16 systems and subsystems.
• Proficiency with RF, processor pneumatics, CI, and displays systems; MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site informal training on installation, maintenance and operation of F-16 avionics to component level.
• Advise on tools, AGE and test equipment for F-16 systems and related equipment.
• Develop local training programs and identify required training.
• Emphasize safety and demonstrate modifications/retrofits for F-16 systems.
• Assist in problem resolution and maintenance program improvements; liaison with manufacturers.
• Support training on technical orders and failure data reporting; assist in investigations.
• Be flexible to accommodate customer requirements and pass security checks.

This position is located in Isa Air Base, Bahrain. Note: This position is located in Bahrain and is an accompanied assignment - employee +1. This position will provide on-site advice, liaison, and informal training in the installation, operation and maintenance of equipment and systems related to F-16 on and off the aircraft.

The objective of the FSE is to elevate the technical skill and abilities of the personnel responsible for the operation and maintenance of F-16 aircraft and associated equipment/systems to a level of self-sufficiency.

What You Will Be Doing

Specific tasks include but are not limited to the following:

• Provide on-site/on-equipment informal unit training to the component level on installation, maintenance and operating techniques pertaining to the adjustment, calibration, trouble-shooting, bench check, routine maintenance, inspection and repair of the prime equipment/system.
• Provide advice in the identification of and instruction on the use of special tools, handling equipment, aerospace ground equipment (AGE) and test equipment associated with and related to F-16 aircraft and avionics systems.
• Devise local informal training programs and provide advice in identifying needed training programs.
• Emphasize safety precautions to be taken in all training provided. Demonstrate best methods of modifications and retrofit kits related to F-16 systems.
• Render technical advice to resolve difficult and unusual maintenance problems. Provide consistent analysis of maintenance difficulties.
• Provide advice on the establishment of maintenance, inspection and training programs designed to improve the quality of maintenance, recommending changes as applicable.
• Provide liaison through which information related to maintenance and operational problems, available in the manufacturer's plant, can be quickly disseminated to operations and maintenance personnel.
• Provide training on the use and interpretation of applicable technical orders. Provide advice as requested to assist in accident investigation and preparing failure data reports and unsatisfactory reports.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to accommodate customer requirements as needed.
• Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
• Must be a US citizen. Must have an at minimum an Interim Secret Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain a Final Secret Security Clearance.
• Selected candidate must pass an overseas physical.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years avionics systems/subsystems experience or will accept 8 years avionics systems/ subsystems experience without a degree
• Aircraft avionics experience must include at least 3 years with F-16 Systems and Subsystems.
• Advance Test Stations that include knowledge on the Radio Frequency (RF), Processor Pneumatic (PP), Computer Inertia (CI), and Display's Indicator (DP) systems
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00
