Job summary

Mach Industries in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with Avionics Integration to design, integrate, and test electro‑mechanical systems for next‑generation defense platforms.

You will develop mounting architectures, enclosures, and wiring strategies, collaborate with electrical and test teams, and drive hardware bring‑up, environmental testing, and flight qualification in a fast‑paced, mission‑focused environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of mechanical engineering experience focused on avionics integration or wiring harness design.
• Proficient with 3D CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks) and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Experience designing enclosures and EMI/EMC mitigation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering.
• Hands-on hardware development and end-to-end integration experience.

Responsibilities

• Design avionics or PCBA mounting architectures and enclosures with CAD and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to develop architecture, schematics, and ICDs.
• Design avionics accommodations for shock, vibration, EMI/EMC, grounding, shielding, and thermal management.
• Support testing of integrated avionics assemblies (vibration, shock, thermal cycling, IP, EMI/EMC).
• Design fixtures and tooling to manufacture, inspect, qualify, and test avionics hardware.
• Author test plans and engineering milestones for cross-team reviews.
• Support development milestones, including extended hours and weekends as needed.
