Job summary

Textron Aviation invites you to join a 2027 Summer Internship in System Safety Engineering in Wichita, KS. You will assist with safety analyses, system safety reports, and certification-related activities on aircraft projects.

You’ll contribute to cross-functional teams, learn safety lifecycle processes, and gain practical experience in systems engineering while working full-time for ten weeks.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Time management to handle multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development of System Safety Reports and hazard analyses.
• Assist with establishment of Systems Engineering process planning.
• Apply systems engineering methods to design, manufacturing and testing of aircraft systems.
• Ensure quality and integrity of lifecycle deliverables.
• Assist with preparation of certification and test plans and reports.
