Job summary

Universal Avionics in Duluth, GA is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to join our Hardware Engineering team, contributing to the full lifecycle development of avionics hardware systems.

You will design, verify, and integrate electronic circuitry for mission-critical aircraft systems, collaborating with mechanical, systems, software, and reliability teams to deliver safe, reliable hardware.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hardware development experience
  • Experience with electronic circuit design and hardware development environments.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication and technical documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electronic circuitry and avionics hardware solutions.
  • Support conceptual designs, trade studies, and product feasibility assessments.
  • Develop schematics, board-level documentation, test procedures, and power estimates.
  • Support high-reliability designs with strong focus on design-for-test and safety-critical requirements.
  • Lead and participate in circuit card design reviews.
  • Collaborate with PCB Designers on multilayer board layouts.
  • Support integration, debugging, qualification, verification, and sustaining activities.
  • Work within multidisciplinary engineering teams across the product lifecycle.
