Job summary

Stratolaunch, LLC seeks a level II or Sr-level Test Engineer to support the environmental test team for the Talon hypersonic program. You will drive environmental and functional tests of avionics components and test hardware, planning, executing, and validating systems with cross-functional teams.

You will coordinate test activities, analyze failures, and contribute to test instrumentation design while ensuring compliance with DO-160 and MIL-STD standards. Mojave, CA based with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 2–5 years of relevant experience (Level II) or 5–10 years (Sr-level).
• Experience with environmental component level tests and loading environments.
• Experience integrating launch vehicle or aircraft electrical systems.
• Experience designing test instrumentation systems and reviewing electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of environmental and aerospace test standards (DO-160, MIL-STD-810/461).
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.
• Strong communication to share technical challenges with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Create environmental test plans, procedures, and reports for test requirements.
• Participate in environmental tests onsite and offsite.
• Coordinate test execution including travel to test houses.
• Perform failure analysis and develop recovery plans.
• Maintain and operate environmental test equipment (vibration tables, thermal chambers).
• Design new environmental test instrumentation systems and support operation.
• Support existing test instrumentation systems operations.
• Understand test standards and compliance requirements.
