Inertial Aerospace, a HEICO Company, is seeking an Avionics Engineering Technician to join our Engineering team in Ohio. The role focuses on maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, assembly and testing of avionics test equipment, with emphasis on detail and reliability.

Ideal candidates have strong depth in test systems, experience with PCB assembly and test procedures, and excellent communication. FAA pre-employment drug screening and valid work authorization in the USA are required.

Inertial Aerospace, a HEICO Company is hiring an Avionics Engineering Technician to join our Engineering team. Inertial Aerospace has decades of experience in the aviation industry and continues to be the leader in the repair of inertial navigation equipment and aircraft avionics. The Avionics Engineering Technician supports engineering activities for designing and maintaining current Test Equipment and Systems. This role is responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, assembly and testing of avionics test equipment. The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth in test systems with excellent attention to detail and a desire to perform their job function correctly and consistently.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, assembly and testing of avionics test equipment.
• Provide support in failure analysis and root cause corrective action of test equipment and systems.
• Support development, maintenance, approval of test procedures, and gathering of engineering data.
• Perform electrical and mechanical assembly of systems for testing Avionics.
• Perform THT/SMT solder/rework, printed circuit board assembly, cable assembly, and system wiring.
• Perform basic troubleshooting to locate and diagnose failures, as well as perform calibrations using standard electronic equipment.
• Manage workload, parts inventory, and planning of maintenance activities as instructed.
• Read, write and comprehend English written technical documentation.
• Perform tasks requiring the use of a various hand and power tools.
• Perform other activities as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum: High School diploma with 5+ years of documented experience and demonstrated ability to perform assigned technical tasks
• Strong knowledge of Test Equipment and Systems, electronic troubleshooting, and failure analysis
• Experience with engineering documentation, repair specifications, and test procedures
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• FAA Required pre-employment drug screening
• Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in aerospace, with significant experience in maintaining and supporting test equipment and systems
• Working knowledge of FAA Part 145 repair station requirements and related regulations
• Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience
• Prior experience supporting airline, military, or OEM customers
