Avionics/Electrical Technician I - Weekend Shift in GAC St. Louis

This position is for weekends (4th shift), Friday - Sunday, 0600-1830.

The compensation range for this role is $24.10 - $28.31 per hour.

Final compensation will be determined based on factors including qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, 2 years of related work experience or accredited schooling in aviation electronics, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Position Purpose: To assist in troubleshooting and repairing system discrepancies, ensuring minimal schedule impact, and implementing process improvements to reduce costs while maintaining safety and quality.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic testing and troubleshooting of avionics and aircraft systems.
  • Under supervision, install and test electrical/avionics components per specifications, ensuring defect-free systems.
  • Assist in ensuring quality and efficiency of installations and repairs.
  • Develop skills to repair or replace defective components and wiring, including splicing, soldering, and pinning.
  • Implement engineering changes and modifications as required.
  • Set up and operate test equipment; conduct functional tests to evaluate performance.
  • Document all work performed for inspection purposes.
  • Test and maintain test equipment and electronic systems.
  • Follow safety and tool control protocols, including FOD and 5S programs.

Additional Functions: Support aircraft certification and final testing, including flight tests if required. Perform other duties as assigned.
