Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state is seeking a mid-career engineer for the vehicle Core Platform System team, focusing on compute, network, and I/O functions for lunar spacecraft. Role includes design, hands-on hardware work in labs, and support for integration and test of flight hardware.

Qualifications

  • Minimum BS Degree in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace, or related Engineering field
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in relevant areas of engineering operations
  • Experience with analog, digital and mixed-signal circuit analysis, simulation, design, test, troubleshooting, signal integrity, power, and grounding and general board layout principles
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, power, grounding, and general board layout principles
  • Avionics hardware component design and assembly experience
  • Avionics hardware and software integration experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Technical authority for physical and functional components of the avionics hardware design for core compute and networking functions of a human-rated spacecraft
  • Requirements development and management for avionics subsystems
  • Development and execution of development, verification, and validation work in laboratory and production environments
  • Integration of avionics interfaces with other vehicle subsystems
  • Coordination with component developers on interface definitions, deliverables, and schedule alignment
  • Support for long-lead hardware identification and procurement planning
  • Risk analyses support including FMECA, DFx, and root-cause analysis
  • Use engineering and business judgment to ensure optimal product design, manufacture, procurement, testing, qualification, and delivery
