Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids is seeking an engineering intern to join a team designing next‑generation avionics computing products. You will collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineers to gain hands‑on experience across the full systems engineering lifecycle from requirements through integration and verification.

You will learn by doing, applying Python skills, and building familiarity with computer architecture.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co‑op session.
• Experience with at least one programming language (Python is used regularly in the role).
• Working knowledge of computer architecture.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a team of systems engineers designing the next generation of avionics computing products, collaborating across hardware, software, and systems domains.
• Contribute to learning the full systems engineering lifecycle from requirements and design through integration and verification.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
