Job summary

Garmin International is seeking a full-time Design Certification Engineer 1 - Core at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area.

You will lead project engineering teams in certification processes and development activities for avionics products, ensuring compliance with aviation standards and federal regulations. You will manage schedules, coordinate testing, draft certification documents, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and products through

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer Science, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering.
• GPA 3.0 or higher with evidence of applied knowledge.
• Knowledge of basic circuits (Digital, FPGA, Analog and/or RF).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Superior organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead project engineering teams to ensure compliance with certification requirements.
• Draft and submit certification documentation to the appropriate authority (TSOs and others).
• Coordinate project schedules and deliverables per aviation processes.
• Perform unit-level safety and security analyses and requirement generation.
• Coordinate testing for FCC, CE, ANATEL, RED, EAR and other standards.
• Guide testing and document results in formal test reports.
• Update processes to comply with new regulations and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with design engineering on product concept and development plans.
