Job Description: Supply Chain Engineer - Electrical Hardware

K2 Space is building large, high-powered spacecraft for the next generation of space development. Backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Altimeter Capital, and many others ($180M raised to date), we aim to mass produce the highest-powered satellite platforms ever built for missions across LEO to Deep Space.

The rise of launch vehicles like Falcon 9 and Starship enables a move from mass constraint to mass abundance. We believe this new era requires spacecraft with a fundamentally different design to fully utilize these massive rockets.

The Role

You will oversee critical aspects of our supply chain organization, focusing on electrical, solar, and GNC components. Responsibilities include technical procurement, BOM management, supplier monitoring, contract negotiations, and travel to suppliers to ensure progress and quality.

Responsibilities

• Technical Procurement: Source electrical hardware such as connectors, harnesses, and PCBs; negotiate costs and contracts; manage supplier quality and delivery; act as the primary interface with suppliers.
• Material Planning: Manage BOMs; implement master planning schedules; coordinate with engineering for assembly milestones; develop analytics for supply chain metrics.
• Inventory: Implement inventory kitting processes; maintain minimum inventory levels for production readiness.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in aerospace supply chain management or engineering
• Experience with electrical schematics and electromechanical systems
• Proven ability managing electrical suppliers in a fast-paced environment
• Strong inventory management skills
• 2+ years managing electrical BOMs
• 1+ year experience with SQL or similar software
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally; willingness to travel up to 25%

Nice to Have

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields
• Experience procuring guidance/navigation hardware, consumables, solar array materials
• 3+ years technical procurement experience
• Experience with technical drawings and AS9100 standards

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $65,000 - $100,000 + equity
