Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is hiring an Avionics Build Associate (Starship) to support kit assembly and material handling on a Texas Starbase site.

You will pick, store, issue and verify parts, maintain traceability, rotate stock and assist with key performance metrics. Prior ERP experience (SAP/Oracle) and forklift skills are desirable for this role.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years inventory control experience preferred.
  • Experience with forklift and warehouse operations.
  • Experience with assembly/kit processes and material traceability.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle).
  • Experience in aerospace/industrial sectors is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble kits of parts, materials and hardware for shop needs.
  • Store and issue raw materials and components for operations.
  • Maintain proper shelving, locations and lot traceability.
  • Verify materials against paperwork and ensure correct quantities.
  • Rotate stock and manage shelf life per procedures.
  • Support metrics and housekeeping for clean operations.
  • Occasional overtime or weekend work for deadlines.

AVIONICS BUILD ASSOCIATE (STARSHIP)RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform picking function to make up necessary kits of parts, material and hardware as required, ascertaining that all parts are available and accounted for in kit
  • Store and issue raw material, parts, details and hardware to support shop operations
  • Store parts and materials in bins, drawers, and racks, identifying part and stored location
  • Maintain strict material handling practices in accordance with procedures
  • Verify all material received for conformity with accompanying paperwork/documentation, checking for damage, correct part numbers, quantity and revisions
  • Issue material against approved paperwork such as affixing verification and traceability on required serialized parts before issuing. Validate lot trace
  • Abide by all procedures, desk instructions and standard operating documents
  • Monitor shelf-life storage and maintain proper rotation of stock
  • Support the organizations metric goals and objectives
  • Perform good housekeeping chores in area
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of inventory control experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 3+ years of inventory control experience in a warehouse
  • Experience in operating a forklift and other related inventory equipment
  • Experience and understanding of inventory and kitting processes
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience within the aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic fields
  • ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Available for at least one of the following shifts:
  • 1st shift: 5 AM to 4:30PM
  • 3rd shift: 5:30 PM to 4 AM
  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Stand: Up to 6 hours per day
  • Sit: Up to 6 hoursper day
  • Push/Pull: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per day
  • Overhead reach: Up to 1 hour per day
  • Walk: Up to 3 hours per day
  • Lift/Carry: Up to 50lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per day
  • Kneel/Crouch: up to 2 hours per day
  • Upper body twist: Up to 6 hours per day
