SpaceX in Texas is seeking an Avionics Build Associate (Starship) to perform picking, kit assembly, and material handling to keep shop operations running smoothly.

This role requires at least 1 year of inventory control experience, forklift operation, and familiarity with ERP systems; willingness to work flexible shifts and overtime.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of inventory control experience in a warehouse.
  • ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Perform picking to assemble kits of parts and ensure availability.
  • Store and issue raw material, parts, and hardware to support shop operations.
  • Store parts in bins, drawers, and racks with correct identification.
  • Maintain material handling practices per procedures.
  • Verify material received against paperwork, check for damage, part numbers, quantity, revisions.
  • Issue material with verification and traceability on serialized parts; validate lot trace.
  • Follow procedures and SOPs.
  • Monitor shelf-life and rotate stock properly.
  • Support organizational metric goals.
  • Keep area clean and organized.

AVIONICS BUILD ASSOCIATE (STARSHIP)

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform picking function to make up necessary kits of parts, material and hardware as required, ascertaining that all parts are available and accounted for in kit
  • Store and issue raw material, parts, details and hardware to support shop operations
  • Store parts and materials in bins, drawers, and racks, identifying part and stored location
  • Maintain strict material handling practices in accordance with procedures
  • Verify all material received for conformity with accompanying paperwork/documentation, checking for damage, correct part numbers, quantity and revisions
  • Issue material against approved paperwork such as affixing verification and traceability on required serialized parts before issuing. Validate lot trace
  • Abide by all procedures, desk instructions and standard operating documents
  • Monitor shelf‑life storage and maintain proper rotation of stock
  • Support the organization’s metric goals and objectives
  • Perform good housekeeping chores in area
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of inventory control experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • 3+ years of inventory control experience in a warehouse
  • Experience in operating a forklift and other related inventory equipment
  • Experience and understanding of inventory and kitting processes
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience within the aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic fields
  • ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Available for at least one of the following shifts:
    • 1st shift: 5 AM to 4:30 PM
    • 3rd shift: 5:30 PM to 4 AM
  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Stand: Up to 6 hours per day
  • Sit: Up to 6 hours per day
  • Push/Pull: Up to 50 lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per day
  • Overhead reach: Up to 1 hour per day
  • Walk: Up to 3 hours per day
  • Lift/Carry: Up to 50 lbs. (unassisted) 2 hours or longer per day
  • Kneel/Crouch: up to 2 hours per day
  • Upper body twist: Up to 6 hours per day
